Far Niente Family of Wineries & Vineyards' Vice President of Winemaking Andrew Delos and The Caviar Co.'s Tess Roletti are teaming up for our May Hosted at Home virtual wine tasting! From the crisp flavors of Bella Union Sauvignon Blanc with wild Hackleback caviar to the surprising magic of Siberian Sturgeon's large black pearls paired with Nickel & Nickel Darien Vineyard Syrah, it promises to be a wine and caviar event like no other.
Tess sat down with us in advance of May 14 online “happy hour,” to talk about the three hand-selected caviars she'll be pairing with May's Hosted at Home wine selections. Check out her caviar and wine pairing recommendations below. Hosted at Home members, don't forget to bookmark the virtual tasting link you received in your inbox. Then, log in on May 14, 4:30 PM Pacific, for an afternoon dedicated to all things caviar and wine.
The Caviar Company's Tess Roletti Talks Wine & Caviar
Hackleback Caviar + Bella Union Sauvignon Blanc
This wild caviar from the Tennessee River provides a perfect balance of earth and brine with a nutty finish. This small sparkling jet black pearl is wonderful on its own as it will beautifully melt in your mouth, or pair it with blini and crème fraîche for a perfect bite.
Royal White Sturgeon + Nickel & Nickel Quicksilver Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
This splendid California White Sturgeon is the sophisticated sister of this species as it sparkles with an array of color ranging from platinum to rich amber. With every bite, this caviar has a new dimension of flavor. Starting with a silky and nutty taste while finishing with a smooth, earthy savor.
Siberian Sturgeon + Nickel & Nickel Darien Vineyard Syrah
A smooth, savory, and satisfying caviar with a large black pearl. Mirroring the flavor profile of parmesan cheese, this Polish caviar has the perfect balance of nutty and cheesy flavor. While some may overlook her, she is truly something special and a bit of a hidden gem.
