Harvest Intern/Bella Union Winery

Job Description:

Founded in Oakville, California in 1885 and restored in 1979, Far Niente is consistently recognized as a benchmark producer of Napa Valley Chardonnay and Oakville Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Bella Union is our youngest winery and specializes in creating Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc from carefully selected Napa Valley vineyards.

Our Bella Union facility in Rutherford primarily focuses on our Bella Union brand but also assists in production of our family of wineries' other brands.

Bella Union Winery is seeking harvest interns to assist with the production of high-quality wines from Napa Valley. This position will start in August and will run through mid-November (depending on the season).

Key Responsibilities:

• Cellar cleaning and sanitation
• Grape processing/sorting
• Cap Management
• Helping with additions to juice or wine
• Assorted cellar work, barrel work, wine and juice movements, bottling.
• Operate pumps and harvest equipment

Qualification Requirements:

• Winery experience preferred but not required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Commitment to excellence and high standards
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work long hours, nights, and weekends during harvest and bottling

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Walk, kneel, bend, and stand for prolonged periods of time

Partially subsidized on-site housing will be available on a first come first served basis.
